VOLUNTEER WORK: A way of living…
How to organize a event of such importance without the help of men and women who chose, to help the ALS cause by giving their time and their talent to help raise money for the cure ? Impossible.
How to quantify all these efforts ? Hardly feasible because of the never ending hours of think tanking, of mail exchanges, of meetings, of conference calls and such, nights and weekends included. All this because some of us have seen a friend dying from this terrible disease.
How to put a figure price on these human resources? Even more difficult because each one of the leading team is a professional in it’s discipline, chosen for the best of the event’s final results. We can think of hundred thousands of money, knowing that time is money.
These volunteers are working in the shadow, on the Organization committee for the most part. We want to thank them here and now for their heartfelt gift. The same goes for a hundred people more who will give their Sunday to us so the event can be to the upper level of organization.
Be it for a few months, three days or a few hours, the gesture is the same and starts at the same point : the heart of the volunteer.
Of that, the André-Delambre Foundation is forever grateful. |
